| 内容記述 | The course of study（2009）has required English teachers to use only English in class at high schools, in principle. As Watari（2011）mentioned, there is little empirical research on teaching English through English（TETE）. In the previous study I did some research on TETE with a focus on high school students at the middle level（2017）and at the top level（2018）. This time I focused on junior high school students because the course of study（2017）has also required English teachers to use only English in class at junior high schools, in principle. The questionnaire was developed by Mr. Uenishi（2011）. I revised some to fit my research design. Firstly, exploratory factor analyses were conducted after collecting the data. Then three factors were yielded. They are as follows: Environment, Review and Explanation. Secondly, a t-test was conducted to clarify the difference between male and female students. Thirdly, ANOVA tests were conducted using majors, interest, or proficiency in English as independent factors. The results have shown that the students with higher interest in English prefer teachers using TETE. TETE may have more influence on motivation of junior high school students than that of high school students. |
